To register a new Private Company (Pty Ltd), we require: 1. Scan/photo of your South African ID card/smartcard or passport. 2. A proof of residential or business address (e.g., utility bill). 3. Up to 4 proposed company names listed in order of preference. 4. The contact details of the active director(s).
Name reservation approval usually takes 1 to 2 business days. Once CIPC approves the company name, compiling and lodging the company registry takes another 2 to 4 business days. The entire process takes roughly 3 to 7 business days, depending on CIPC system queues.
